The current retrospective cohort study compares long term outcomes following prenatal exposure to methadone or buprenorphine. The results show no striking differences between the two groups. Additionally, the study recommends methadone and buprenorphine for pregnant women with opioid use disorder in order to improve pregnancy, reduce risk of relapse and reduce perinatal complications.
