The NIH will be funding a new study to evaluate treatment options for neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome. The study, called Advancing Clinical Trials in Neonatal Opioid Withdrawal Syndrome (ACT NOW), aims to improve clinical care of these infants. This study will identify best practices for treating infants with neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome, as healthcare providers currently lack standard, evidence-based treatments despite increasing rates among newborns.
